What does Proportional Remote Control mean?

Proportional means continuously or evenly. In a proportional remote control, an analog [stepless] signal is used so that the acceleration is smooth and smooth. If the same application were to use a digital signal that controls in steps, jerks could occur. As an alternative to the analog signal, a PWM signal can also be used.

RC Tanks with Infrared-Battle-System [IR]:

Modern remote-controlled tanks are partially equipped with the Infrared-Battle-System for simulating a battle with multiple tanks. If a tank is hit this is put out of action for some time. This can lead to a realistic battle with several rc tanks. The effects of a hit are:

1st-4th Hits: The hit tank staggers and is disabled for 3 seconds.

5. Hits: The hit tank staggers heavily and shuts off. The tank needs to be restarted.

Smoke Function

To fill the smoke generator, tilt the rear of the tank upwards at an angle of approximately 45°. For the first filling, add 2-3 ml of smoke oil to the designated openings (see instruction manual). For the second and all subsequent fillings, use 5-6 ml of smoke oil (tank capacity). Do not overfill the smoke generator, nor allow it to overheat when empty, as this could cause the generator to malfunction. All Heng Long tanks are factory-filled with 2-3 ml of smoke oil!

Spare parts/Tuning

The supply of spare and upgrade parts is good. Wear parts such as gearboxes, tracks, and engines are available for every model. The possibilities for tuning and upgrading are virtually endless. There are add-on parts from the series and custom accessories from outside the series. Many parts, such as the commander's hatch, shovels, and axes, are available in metal. The tank's soundscape can be improved with a different sound module and speakers. Gearboxes can be replaced, and metal lower hulls or metal turrets can be selected.

What exactly do you get?

Heng Long remote-controlled tanks offer excellent value for money and a large fan base around the world. The chassis and attachments are very well-made. The weak points of Heng Long tanks are their plastic gearboxes, which are simply not designed for off-road use and can be replaced with metal or steel gearboxes. However, the plastic gearbox is sufficient for use in the living room. All Heng Long tanks are delivered ready-to-run; after charging the battery, the tanks are immediately ready for use. Only decals and small parts such as tools and fuel cans need to be applied to give the tank model the finishing touches.

Smoke

The smoke function emits smoke from the exhaust mufflers. This function can be controlled via the remote control on 2.4 GHz models. The included smoke oil (aerosol) is heated and vaporized by a smoke module/smoke generator. The included 25 ml bottle is sufficient for about 6 fillings, each producing approximately 2 hours of smoke. Smoke oil is available as an accessory for RC tanks.

Sound

All tank commands are supported by the sound function. This includes starting the engine, driving, turret rotation, raising and lowering the cannon, cannon shots, machine gun fire, and shutting down the engine. The sound is generated by a small speaker in the tank. The sound function can also be upgraded with better speakers and other circuit boards. Many companies specialize in upgrade parts for 1:16 scale tanks. The soundscape can be improved and individualized, for example, by a Bendini sound module and a Clark panel.

Chassis/Track Drive

The track drive makes Heng Long remote-controlled tanks suitable for off-road use [use outdoors at your own risk!] and can climb inclines of up to 35 degrees. However, the manufacturer warns against moisture, sand, or dirt, which can get stuck in the electronics or transmission and damage them. Outdoor use should therefore be undertaken with caution. Heng Long models are available in the standard version with plastic link tracks connected by steel pins, or the Pro version with metal tracks. Metal tracks in various qualities are available for retrofitting for all tank models. Replacing the tracks is easy and can be done by anyone with an Allen wrench.

Recoil Simulation

All Heng Long remote-controlled tanks offered in this shop feature a recoil simulation. When fired from a cannon, the tank recoils slightly backward, which is achieved by a brief recoil of the track drive. Those who want their tank model to be completely true to the original can replace the recoil simulation with a real recoil mechanism. However, this conversion is somewhat more complex, as the gun barrel, among other things, has to be replaced.
